“Who are you to judge me? Jesus said, "Judge not" (Matthew 7:1).”

Jesus condemned hypocritical, self-righteous judging—not moral discernment (Matthew 7:5; John 7:24). I'm not your judge; I'm a fellow sinner warning you that God will judge us both, and telling you where to find mercy.

💡 Ask them back“When you tell me I shouldn't judge, aren't you making a moral judgment about me right now? And did you know that four verses later Jesus says, 'First remove the plank from your own eye, and THEN you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye'? He wants us to help each other—just not as hypocrites.”

“The church is full of hypocrites. Why would I want to be part of that?”

Agree—there are hypocrites in church, and Jesus condemned hypocrisy more fiercely than anyone. But hypocrites don't disprove Jesus; a counterfeit implies that the genuine exists.

💡 Ask them back“You're right, and Jesus agreed with you—He called religious hypocrites 'whitewashed tombs' (Matthew 23:27). But can you name one thing Jesus taught that He didn't live? And on Judgment Day, will pointing at hypocrites be a defense for you or me?”

“The Bible has been translated so many times it's like the telephone game. There's no way we know what it originally said.”

Modern Bibles are translated directly from Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, not down a chain of translations. With about 5,800 Greek New Testament manuscripts and the Dead Sea Scrolls, scholars can recover the original text with remarkable confidence.

💡 Ask them back“In the telephone game, each person hears the message once and nobody can check the original. What if you had thousands of written copies, from different places and centuries, that you could lay side by side and compare? Could you work out the original message then?”

“Jesus never even existed—he's a myth copied from Horus, Mithras, and other pagan gods.”

Virtually every historian of antiquity—Christian or not—agrees Jesus existed and was crucified under Pilate. The "copycat" parallels rely on late sources or on details that don't appear in the ancient myths at all.

💡 Ask them back“Can you show me an ancient source that says Horus was born of a virgin on December 25th, had twelve disciples, and was crucified? And if even Bart Ehrman—an agnostic scholar who wrote a whole book on this question—concludes that Jesus certainly existed, why do you think virtually all historians agree?”

“What about people in remote places who never heard of Jesus? Is God going to send them to hell?”

God is perfectly just and will judge each person by the light they had (Romans 1:20; 2:14-16), and He draws those who seek Him (Acts 17:26-27). But you have heard—so what will you do with Jesus?

💡 Ask them back“Do you trust that the Judge of all the earth will do what is right (Genesis 18:25)? And since you have heard about Jesus and they haven't, isn't the more urgent question what you will do with Him?”

“Religion has caused most of the wars in history. The world would be better off without it.”

The historical data don't support it—the Encyclopedia of Wars classifies only about 7% of recorded wars as primarily religious—and the 20th century's officially atheist regimes killed tens of millions. Abuse doesn't disprove the thing abused, and Jesus taught love of enemies.

💡 Ask them back“If religion causes most wars, which religion was behind World War I, World War II, or the purges of Stalin and Mao? And when someone does violence in Jesus' name, are they following His command to 'love your enemies' (Matthew 5:44)—or disobeying it?”

“I'm young. I'll think about God later, once I've lived my life.”

No one is promised tomorrow (Proverbs 27:1; James 4:14), and every "not now" makes the heart harder. Now is the day of salvation—and following Jesus isn't a waste of youth but the best way to live it.

💡 Ask them back“Do you know for certain that you'll be alive next week? If you knew you would die tonight, would you want to make things right with God first? Then why wait on something that important?”

“How can a loving God send anyone to hell? That's not fair.”

Because God is good, He must be just—a judge who ignores crime is corrupt. Hell is the just penalty for sin against an infinitely holy God, yet God wants no one to perish and paid the penalty Himself at the Cross.

💡 Ask them back“If a judge let a man who had raped and murdered go free because 'the judge is loving,' would that judge be good or corrupt? So if God is good, must He punish evil? And if He does, where does that leave you and me?”

“Salvation is only for the true twelve tribes of Israel—Black, Hispanic, and Native American people. White people are Edomites, and they will be slaves in the kingdom. Read Deuteronomy 28!”

God's covenant with Abraham was to bless ALL nations. The Gospel in Christ breaks every racial barrier; all who believe are Abraham's seed.

💡 Ask them back“In Genesis 12:3 and Genesis 22:18, God told Abraham: 'In your seed ALL the nations of the earth shall be blessed.' And in Galatians 3:28, the Bible says: 'There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female; for you are all ONE in Christ Jesus.' Is God a respecter of persons or skin color?”

“I'll take my chances. If there is a hell, at least all my friends will be there—we'll party together.”

Hell is not a party: Jesus described it as darkness and separation from every good thing God gives, including friendship. And you don't have to take a chance at all—Jesus took the penalty so you can know you are forgiven.

💡 Ask them back“Would you take those chances with anything else? If there were a real possibility that a building was on fire, would you stay inside because your friends were there too? And if God has made a way for you to be sure, why gamble?”

“The church just wants my money. Look at those preachers with private jets and mansions.”

Some leaders have exploited people for money, and Scripture condemns them in the strongest terms. But Jesus doesn't want your money—He wants you, and salvation is a free gift that can never be bought.

💡 Ask them back“If I could show you that Jesus offers forgiveness completely free—no payment, no membership fee—would you be open to hearing about Him? And is it fair to judge Jesus by people who misuse His name to get rich?”

“That's just your interpretation. There are thousands of denominations—everyone reads the Bible their own way.”

Christians disagree on secondary matters, but the historic churches agree on the core: one God, Jesus fully God and fully man, crucified for our sins and risen. Most of the Bible is plain, and the question is not whether it can be interpreted but what it actually says.

💡 Ask them back“When you read a text message or a news article, do you assume it can mean anything, or do you try to understand what the writer meant? Why should the Bible be different? Could we read a passage together and see what it plainly says?”
