Jesus Also Opposed Dead Religion:
Jesus confronted empty ritual and religious hypocrisy (Mark 7:6-8; Matthew 23). At its heart, Christianity is not a system of rules but a relationship: "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3).

Spirituality Without Truth Is Dangerous:
"Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits" (1 John 4:1), because "Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14). A feeling of peace or power does not prove its source. Scripture gives a test: does the spirit confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh (1 John 4:2-3)?

Spirit AND Truth (John 4):
The Samaritan woman wanted to debate which mountain was the right place to worship. Jesus lifted her eyes: "true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth" (John 4:23-24). He gently exposed her life (4:16-18), offered her "living water" (4:10-14), and revealed Himself as the Messiah (4:26). Spirit without truth is vague; truth without spirit is dead. Jesus offers both.

God Is a Person to Know, Not an Energy to Tap:
A real relationship requires a real Person with a will and a character—and a person can tell you who he is. You cannot have a relationship with God while ignoring what He has said about Himself. God has spoken most clearly in His Son (Hebrews 1:1-2).

You can sayNature can show you that God is powerful and creative (Romans 1:20), but it can't tell you His name, whether He forgives, or how to be right with Him. And our hearts can deceive us (Jeremiah 17:9). If God is personal, He would want to speak clearly—and Christianity says He did, in Jesus. Would you be open to reading what Jesus actually said?

They say“All that matters is love. Doctrine just divides people.”

You can sayI agree love is central—Jesus said the greatest commandments are to love God and your neighbor (Matthew 22:37-39). But "all that matters is love" is itself a doctrine—a belief about what's true. And love without truth isn't love: a doctor who hides a diagnosis to be "nice" isn't loving. Jesus was "full of grace and truth" (John 1:14).

They say“I've had real spiritual experiences—spirit guides, energy healing—and they felt loving and peaceful.”

You can sayI believe you experienced something real—the spiritual realm is real. But the Bible warns that deception often looks like light and feels good (2 Corinthians 11:14). Here's a test: what do those spirits say about Jesus? That He is God come in the flesh who died for your sins (1 John 4:2-3)? Any spirit that leads you away from Him isn't leading you to God.
