Misunderstanding Causality:
The premise of the cosmological argument is NOT "everything has a cause." The premise is: "Whatever begins to exist has a cause."

The best scientific evidence indicates that the physical universe (space, time, matter) had a beginning. Therefore, the universe requires a cause.
God, by definition, is eternal, without beginning, self-existent (aseity), and outside of time (Psalm 90:2). Asking "Who made God?" is like asking "Who is the bachelor's wife?"—it misunderstands the thing being described.

The Problem of an Actual Infinite Regress:
If God needed a creator (God B), and God B needed God C, you would have an infinite regress of causes. In an infinite regress, the present moment could never be reached—just as you can never finish counting to infinity. There must be an uncaused First Cause who is the bedrock of existence.

You can sayBecause the evidence says the universe began to exist—and things that begin need a cause. Whatever caused space, time, and matter can't itself be made of space, time, and matter. So the uncaused cause has to be beyond the universe: timeless, immaterial, and immensely powerful. That's a good description of what we mean by God.

You can sayQuantum fluctuations arise within a quantum vacuum—a field of energy governed by physical laws. That isn't "nothing"; it's something. It doesn't explain where the vacuum, the energy, and the laws came from in the first place. Nothing, by definition, has no properties and can't produce anything.
