Agree Honestly:
Yes, there are hypocrites in church—just as there are in gyms, businesses, and every group of human beings. Jesus' strongest words were aimed at religious hypocrites (Matthew 23). If you hate hypocrisy, you are agreeing with Jesus.

Don't Judge the Physician by the Patients:
A hospital is full of sick people—that's why they're there. Jesus said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick" (Mark 2:17). The church is not a museum for saints but a hospital for sinners. You don't reject a doctor because his waiting room is full of sick people.

A Counterfeit Implies the Genuine:
Nobody counterfeits a three-dollar bill. Fake Christians exist because there is a real Christ worth imitating. Jesus Himself warned that tares would grow among the wheat (Matthew 13:24-30) and that some who say "Lord, Lord" He never knew (Matthew 7:21-23).

Jesus Is Not a Hypocrite:
The question isn't whether Christians are consistent but whether Christ is. He "committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth" (1 Peter 2:22); even Pilate said, "I find no fault in this Man" (Luke 23:4). And each of us will "give account of himself to God" (Romans 14:12)—other people's hypocrisy won't be our defense.

You can sayChristianity never claims Christians are better than everyone—it claims they're forgiven and being changed. The fair question is whether a person is better than they would have been without Christ. And judge Christianity by Christ, not by Christians: His followers built hospitals, orphanages, and schools across the world because He taught them to. When we fail, we're failing to follow Him, not following Him too closely.

They say“What about all the pastors caught in scandals and the churches that covered up abuse?”

You can sayThose things are real and evil, and they grieve God—Jesus said it would be better for someone who harms a little one to have a millstone hung around his neck (Matthew 18:6). Abuse must be reported to the authorities, not hidden. But notice: the same Bible that condemns them gives you the standard to call it wrong. Don't let wolves in sheep's clothing (Matthew 7:15) keep you from the Good Shepherd.
