The Origin of the Universe (Kalam Cosmological Argument):
Whatever begins to exist has a cause. The best evidence in cosmology points to a beginning: the expansion of the universe and the cosmic background radiation trace back to a hot, dense origin, and the Borde-Guth-Vilenkin theorem (2003) shows that any universe which has, on average, been expanding cannot be eternal into the past. Vilenkin himself concluded that cosmologists "can no longer hide behind the possibility of a past-eternal universe." The cause of space, time, and matter would itself have to be spaceless, timeless, immaterial, enormously powerful—and, since it chose to create, personal.

Cosmic Fine-Tuning:
Many physical constants and initial conditions (the strength of gravity, the strong nuclear force, the cosmological constant) fall within a very narrow life-permitting range. The cosmological constant is often cited as fine-tuned to roughly 1 part in 10^120. Change some of these values only slightly and stars, planets, or chemistry could not exist. Physicists across the belief spectrum acknowledge the fine-tuning; the debate is over its explanation—chance, necessity, a multiverse, or design.

Information in DNA:
DNA stores information in a four-letter chemical code—about 3 billion base pairs in the human genome. In our uniform experience, functional coded information (language, software, blueprints) comes from a mind. Origin-of-life research has not demonstrated an unguided pathway from simple chemicals to the first self-replicating, coded system.

Science and Faith Are Allies:
Modern science was pioneered largely by believers—Kepler, Boyle, Newton, Faraday, Maxwell—who studied nature because they expected a rational Lawgiver to have made an orderly world. Evolution, even if fully granted, describes a process; it does not explain why there is a universe with orderly laws at all.
