The Warning of Matthew 7:21-23:
Jesus warned: "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven... Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'"
Notice Jesus said: "I NEVER knew you." Christianity is an intimate knowing relationship, not religious heritage.

No Grandchildren in the Kingdom:
God has no grandchildren—only children! Your grandmother's faith or parents' baptism cannot save your soul. Ezekiel 18:20: "The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son." Every person must stand before God on their own.

Repentance and Regeneration:
True conversion produces a changed heart. 2 Corinthians 5:17: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

You can sayI'm glad you prayed! But the question isn't whether you said a prayer years ago; it's whether Christ lives in you now. Scripture tells us to "examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith" (2 Corinthians 13:5), and the evidence of new life is a changed heart that loves God and turns from sin (1 John 2:3-4). If you're not sure, why not make sure today?

They say“I was baptized as a baby. That washed away my sin and made me a Christian.”

You can sayBaptism matters—Jesus commanded it. But in Scripture it always goes together with personal repentance and faith (Acts 2:38; Colossians 2:12). Simon the sorcerer was baptized, yet Peter told him he was still "poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity" (Acts 8:13, 23). The question is whether you personally have turned from sin and trusted Christ.
