Jesus' Unbreakable Promise:
Jesus explicitly declared that the gates of Hades would not overcome His church (Matthew 16:18). Ephesians 3:21 adds: "To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever." If there were generations with no true church or gospel on earth, Scripture is broken.

The Melchizedek Priesthood Belongs to Jesus:
The LDS Church ordains young men to the Aaronic priesthood from about age 11 or 12, and adult men to the Melchizedek priesthood. But the Law restricted the Aaronic priesthood to Aaron's descendants (Numbers 3:10), and Hebrews says it has been superseded by Christ (Hebrews 7:11-12). Hebrews 7:23-24 contrasts the many priests who died and were replaced with Jesus: "because He continues forever, [He] has an unchangeable priesthood." The Greek word is aparabatos (ἀπαράβατος)—"permanent, unchangeable" (some render it "untransferable"). The New Testament never describes this priesthood being conferred on other men; instead, all believers become "a royal priesthood" through Christ (1 Peter 2:9).

Second Thessalonians 2:3 describes a rebellion right before Christ's return and the revealing of the man of sin—not the church disappearing 1,700 years before it. The New Testament expects false teachers inside the church (Acts 20:29-30), but it never says the church would vanish. Jesus said the gates of Hades would not prevail.

They say“If there was no apostasy, why are there thousands of Christian denominations? Christianity is in confusion without a living prophet.”
