Freedom from the Spiritual Roots of Disease

"Lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled" (Hebrews 12:15).

This is not just another book on healing; it is a textbook for a generation that has been "unmade" by spiritual forces. For decades, the medical community and the church have operated in isolation. One treats the biological fruit; the other addresses the eternal soul. But what about the spiritual root that exists between the two? Dr. Henry Wright bridges this gap, exposing how our thoughts, relationships, and spiritual alignment directly dictate our physical health.

The Heart of the Matter: My Purpose and Insight

Dr. Wright began his ministry in the early 1980s with a staggering observation: regardless of denomination, less than 5% of God's people were getting healed of their incurable diseases. This realization sent him to God in a crisis of faith. "Boss," he said to God, "if You've called me to represent You, You better show me more fruit. If it's not happening, You better tell me why, or I'm going back into sales and marketing."

Promise without Discernment is Still Bondage

Many Christians live on "positive thinking" or "claiming promises" without the Spirit of discernment. But the Bible says that my people perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). If you have a disease rooted in a specific sin or spiritual separation, no amount of "claiming" will bypass the spiritual law. God's perfect will is not for you to be healed; His perfect will is that you do not get sick.

The chasm of separation. Faith is the bridge across the void of religion and doubt.

The Triad of Relationship: The 3 Levels of Separation

Disease is the physical manifestation of relationship breakdown. It occurs on three distinct levels:

• 1. Separation from God: When we view God through the lens of a flawed earthly father, we create a relationship of fear and performance rather than love and trust.
• 2. Separation from Self: This is the root of autoimmune disease. If you hate yourself, reject yourself, or are bitter toward yourself, your body eventually "agrees" with your thoughts. Your white corpuscles begin to attack your own flesh.
• 3. Separation from Others: Bitterness, envy, and strife toward others create a physical environment of toxicity in your blood and suppress your immune system.

The 7 Stages of Bitterness

Bitterness is not a single emotion; it is a progressive spiritual infestation. It has seven deadly stages:

1. Unforgiveness: The initial decision to hold a grudge.
2. Resentment: Replaying the injury in your mind until it becomes a part of you.
3. Retaliation: The desire to "get even" or see the person suffer.
4. Anger: The physical manifestation of the inner heat of resentment.
5. Hatred: The hardening of the heart against a person or group.
6. Violence: When the inner hatred overflows into outward action (words or deeds).
7. Murder: The ultimate fruit, whether physical or spiritual (hating your brother in your heart).

Pharmakeia and the Mask of Management

In the modern world, we deal with disease through Disease Management, not eradication. The Greek word for "sorcery" used in Revelation 18:23 is pharmakeia, from which we get our word "pharmaceuticals." While medicine has its place, it often serves to mask symptoms and "manage" the curse rather than dealing with the root. Adverse reactions to prescription drugs are the fourth-largest cause of death nationally. We have traded fellowship with the Great Physician for a chemical mask.

"For by thy sorceries were all nations deceived" (Revelation 18:23).

The Science of Thinking: Dendrites and Protein Synthesis

The Bible says, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). Science now confirms that every thought you think creates a physical "branch" in your brain called a dendrite. When you think "stinking thinking" (fear, bitterness, self-hatred), your brain synthesizes proteins that are physically harmful. These dendrites release chemicals that suppress your immune system and alter your body's pH.

The Hypothalamus: The Gateway

The hypothalamus is the gatekeeper of your body. It takes your thoughts and translates them into biological commands for your endocrine system. If your "eye" is full of darkness (fear), your whole body is full of darkness (disease). If your "eye" is full of light (peace), the hypothalamus orders the production of hormones that promote healing and vitality.

The Mystery of MCS/EI (Environmental Illness)

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity is widely misunderstood. Dr. Wright identifies it as a Fear and Anxiety disorder triggered at the limbic system level. When a person has been "violated" or "victimized" spiritually, their hypothalamus becomes hypersensitive. They aren't reacting to the chemicals; they are reacting to the thought of the chemical, which triggers a massive biological "Fight or Flight" response.

Cardiovascular Roots: Fear in the Last Days

Luke 21:26 warns of "men's hearts failing them for fear." Stress is the medical term for the spiritual principality of fear.

• Angina: Caused by vasospasms—the "strangling" of the heart tissue. Root: Apprehended fear and emotional stress.
• High Blood Pressure: Violation of Matthew 6:34. Projecting your thoughts into tomorrow narrowing the vessels.
• Arrhythmias: The electrical signals of the heart being disrupted by the "chaotic noise" of anxiety in the spirit.

The Battle of the Cells: Cancer and Autoimmune

When you attack you, your white corpuscles (your internal warriors) get confused. This is "White Corpuscle Deviate Behavior." Self-rejection sends a signal to these cells to attack living tissue. In Rheumatoid Arthritis, they attack the joints; in Lupus, the organs; in MS, the nerve sheaths.

Cancer: The Broken Hedge

Dr. Wright notes that 30% of cancers have a direct spiritual root, often involving long-term bitterness or extreme rejection. When the spirit is "broken," the anti-oncogenes in the body (the enzymes that protect us from cancer) are suppressed. This allows cell mitosis to run wild. Healing cancer often requires first closing the "door" that allowed the protection to fail.

Generational Curses and DNA

Science calls it "genetic predisposition." The Bible calls it "visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children" (Exodus 20:5). Spiritual bondages can be passed down for 3 or 4 generations. But God is able to break these chains at the chromosome level. The woman delivered from manic-depression in Dr. Wright's seminar was healed not just in her soul, but in her DNA, as the curse was broken and her brain chemistry returned to normal.

The 8 Rs to Freedom: The Pathway to Wholeness

Restoration is a process. You often don't "snap" out of a disease if the root is deep; you Walk Out of it.

1. Recognize: Acknowledge the sin or spiritual root without excuse.
2. Responsibility: Take ownership. No more "the devil made me do it" or "it's my genes."
3. Repent: Turn from the sin toward the Father's love.
4. Renounce: Tell that spirit it has no more place in you. Break the agreement.
5. Remove: Clear all triggers and associated behaviors from your life.
6. Resist: When the "Crispy Critter" (tempting thought) returns, you stand your ground.
7. Rejoice: Thank God for the victory before you even feel the result.
8. Restore: Take the light you have received and help someone else find their freedom.

Spiritual Blocks to Healing

Why are some not healed? It is not because God is unwilling, but because there may be a Block.

• 1. Unforgiveness: The number one block. "If ye forgive not... neither will your Father forgive you" (Matthew 6:15).
• 2. Ignorance: Not knowing that healing is part of your covenant right.
• 3. Occultism: Past or current involvement with witchcraft, psychics, or "white magic" creates a legal right for the enemy to stay.
• 4. Flagrant Sin: Choosing to stay in sin while asking for God's blessings.
• 5. Unbelief: Limiting God to "back then."

Conclusion: The Mercy Seat

The solution is not a formula; it is a relationship. The Ark of the Covenant had the Law inside but the Mercy Seat was on top. God's mercy is bigger than your sin, but it requires honesty. When you stop hiding your "dark places" and bring them into the light, they lose their power. Peace is not a feeling; it is a Person (The Prince of Peace). Fellowship with the Godhead is the ultimate antivirus for the human body.

"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions... and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke 10:19).
