A detailed Christian comparison of the lives, teachings, miracles, behavior toward others, and legacy of Jesus Christ and Muhammad. This report shows the deep and permanent differences between these two leaders.

📖 Introduction

You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

For Christians, the most important question is: Who is Jesus Christ? Along with the Apostle Peter, Christians declare, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God" (Matthew 16:16). This belief completely opposes the teachings of Islam. Islam teaches that Jesus was only a prophet, and that Muhammad was the final and greatest prophet.

This report compares the life, teachings, methods, and legacy of Jesus Christ and Muhammad ibn Abdullah (around 570–632 AD). The differences between them are deep, fundamental, and permanent. These differences reveal opposing views on who God is, how people receive salvation, the meaning of love, the rules of war, and what happens to the human soul after death.

Sources: We use the New Testament for Jesus. We use the Quran, Hadith (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim), and Sirah (Ibn Ishaq) for Muhammad. All criticisms of Muhammad come directly from the most trusted Islamic sources.

🧬 Nature & Identity

The most basic question is: Who did each man claim to be?

Jesus Christ — God in Human Form

Jesus did not merely claim to be a great teacher or a prophet. He made claims that no one else in history has ever made. Jesus claimed that He was one with the eternal God, that He existed before the world began, and that He was the only way to God the Father. His enemies understood His claims exactly, and they tried to execute Him for making these claims.

 • "Before Abraham Was, I AM" — In John 8:58, Jesus declared, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am." He did not merely say He was older than Abraham. He used God's own holy name, "I AM" (Exodus 3:14). The people immediately picked up stones to kill Jesus because He claimed to be God (John 8:59).
 • "I and the Father Are One" — Jesus said in John 10:30, "I and the Father are one." The crowd picked up stones again, saying: "We are stoning you for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God" (John 10:33). Even His enemies understood exactly what Jesus claimed.
 • Accepted Worship — After Jesus walked on water, His disciples "worshipped him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God'" (Matthew 14:33). Jesus accepted their worship. In the Bible, holy angels refuse worship (Revelation 22:8-9). A human prophet would never accept worship.
More Examples
 • Authority to Forgive Sins — When Jesus told a paralyzed man, "Son, your sins are forgiven" (Mark 2:5), the religious teachers thought, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Mark 2:7). The teachers were correct. Jesus then physically healed the man to prove Jesus had divine authority to forgive sins.
 • The Seven "I AM" Declarations — In the Gospel of John, Jesus made seven bold claims about Himself: "I am the bread of life" (6:35); "I am the light of the world" (8:12); "I am the resurrection and the life" (11:25); "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (14:6). No prophet in history ever spoke about himself in this way.
 • Thomas: "My Lord and My God" — After Jesus rose from the dead, His disciple Thomas saw Jesus and declared, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28). Jesus did not correct Thomas. Jesus accepted the title. A holy man who was only human would never allow this.
Muhammad — A Self-Described Human Messenger

Muhammad clearly and repeatedly denied being God. Muhammad claimed only to be a prophet — "the seal of the prophets" (Quran 33:40). The core belief of Islam is Tawhid — the absolute oneness of God (Allah), who does not share His nature with anyone. In Islam, the idea that God could become a man is the worst possible sin (shirk).

 • "I Am Only a Man Like You" — The Quran commands Muhammad to declare: "Say, 'I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God'" (Surah 18:110). Muhammad did not claim to be God, did not exist before he was born, and did not possess a divine nature.
 • Denied the Divinity of Christ — The Quran strongly denies the Christian Trinity and denies that Jesus is the Son of God: "They have certainly disbelieved who say, 'Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary'" (Surah 5:72). The Quran also says: "Say not 'Trinity'... Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son" (Surah 4:171).
 • Uncertain of His Own Salvation — In sharp contrast to Jesus, Muhammad felt uncertain about what would happen to him after death. Sahih al-Bukhari 5266 records Muhammad saying: "By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me."
More Examples
 • Death Like Any Other Man — When Muhammad died, his close friend Abu Bakr spoke to the mourning crowd: "O people, whoever worshipped Muhammad, Muhammad is dead. But whoever worships Allah, then Allah is alive and shall never die." This opposes the living, resurrected Jesus.
 • Allah is Unknowable — Islam teaches that God (Allah) exists so far above creation that people cannot know Allah personally. The Quran describes Allah based on His power and His commands, not based on a loving relationship. Calling Allah "Father" deeply offends Islamic teaching (Surah 112).

🌟 Early Life & Calling

The way a person begins their mission reveals the source and true nature of their calling.

Jesus Christ — The Sinless Son, Welcomed by Heaven

From the moment Jesus was conceived, His life demonstrated holiness and signs from God. The voice of God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the messages of angels confirmed His calling. Jesus experienced no fear, no doubt, and no demonic confusion.

 • The Virgin Birth — The Holy Spirit conceived Jesus in the womb of a virgin named Mary (Matthew 1:18-20). The angel declared, "The holy one to be born will be called the Son of God" (Luke 1:35). In this way, God entered the world as a human, unaffected by the original sin of Adam.
 • Prophesied for Centuries — Prophets predicted the birth, life, and death of Jesus hundreds of years in advance. Prophets said He would be born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), betrayed for 30 silver coins (Zechariah 11:12-13), crucified (Psalm 22:18), and resurrected (Psalm 16:10). Jesus fulfilled more than 300 specific predictions from the Old Testament.
 • A Glorious, Public Calling — When Jesus was baptized, heaven opened, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, and God the Father spoke aloud: "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17). The event contained no darkness, no fear, and no confusion. God the Father publicly approved His Son.
More Examples
 • Wisdom at Age Twelve — At age 12, Jesus sat with the greatest religious teachers in the temple in Jerusalem, "listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers" (Luke 2:46-47).
 • Resisted Every Temptation — After His baptism, the Spirit led Jesus into the desert where Satan tempted Him for 40 days (Matthew 4:1-11). Jesus resisted every temptation by quoting the Word of God. He proved His complete sinlessness.
Muhammad — A Troubled, Fearful Beginning

According to Islam's most trusted sources, Muhammad's calling traumatized him. The calling involved physical violence and initially seemed like a demonic attack. Muhammad required his wife and her Christian cousin to convince him that the experience originated from God, because he did not hear the voice of God directly.

 • Squeezed Until He Could Not Breathe — Sahih al-Bukhari (Book 1, Hadith 3) describes Muhammad's first "revelation" in a cave: "He embraced me and squeezed me so tightly that I could not bear it anymore." This happened three times. In contrast, when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary in the Bible, Gabriel gently said, "Do not be afraid" (Luke 1:30).
 • Convinced He Was Demon-Possessed — After his first encounter, Muhammad ran home in terror. He told his wife Khadija: "I am afraid of what might happen to me." Muhammad believed an evil spirit (a jinn) possessed him. Khadija took him to her Christian cousin, Waraqa ibn Nawfal. This human cousin convinced Muhammad that the experience originated from God.
 • Suicidal Episodes — Early Islamic biographies (Ibn Ishaq and al-Tabari) record that after this first experience, Muhammad became deeply depressed. He repeatedly climbed mountains, planning to throw himself off. The accounts say he was stopped each time. No prophet in the Bible ever attempted suicide after encountering God.
More Examples
 • The "Satanic Verses" Incident — Islamic historian Al-Tabari records that Muhammad temporarily commanded his followers to worship three pagan goddesses (Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat). Later, Muhammad claimed that Satan had tricked him into making this command. People call this event the "Satanic Verses." This event raises serious questions regarding whether his other revelations truly originated from God.

🙏 Teachings on God

Who and what is God? Jesus and Muhammad provide completely different answers.

Jesus Christ — God Is a Loving Father

Jesus taught that God is not a distant ruler who demands fear. Instead, Jesus demonstrated that God is a loving, personal Father who searches for lost people, knows His children by name, and desires a close relationship with His creation.

 • "Our Father in Heaven" — The prayer Jesus taught begins with "Our Father in heaven" (Matthew 6:9). Calling God Abba — an Aramaic word for a close, loving father (Romans 8:15) — introduced an entirely new concept. God desires a relationship, not just strict obedience.
 • The Prodigal Son — In Luke 15:11-32, Jesus told history's most beautiful story about God: a father who sees his wandering son returning from "a long way off" and "ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." God runs toward the returning sinner. The Quran never describes Allah in this manner.
 • God Seeks the Lost — Jesus told three stories in Luke 15 (the lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son) to communicate one amazing point: God actively searches for sinners to bring them home. "The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10).
More Examples
 • God Knows Your Every Need"Your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matthew 6:8). Jesus taught that God numbers the hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30) and cares for you more than He cares for the birds or the flowers (Matthew 6:26). God actively involves Himself in the details of every human life.
 • Eternal Life = Knowing God — Jesus defined eternal life as a personal relationship: "This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent" (John 17:3). In Christianity, eternity is not a reward — eternity is knowing God personally.
Muhammad — Allah — An Unknowable Ruler

The Quran primarily describes Allah as a powerful master and judge. Allah's love carries conditions, people cannot question his decisions, and developing a personal "fatherly" relationship with him is impossible. The 99 names of Allah describe his power, but the name "Father" never appears.

 • Allah Does Not Love the Disobedient — Jesus taught that "God so loved the world" (John 3:16). The Quran, however, lists people that Allah does not love: "Allah does not love transgressors" (2:190); "Allah does not love the wrongdoers" (3:57); "Allah does not love the arrogant" (4:36); "Allah does not love the corrupt" (5:64). Jesus ate with these exact kinds of people to help them.
 • "Father" Is Blasphemy — Calling Allah "Father" acts as a terrible insult in Islamic teaching. Surah 112 states: "He neither begets nor is born." The Quran strongly denies that God can have a son or be known personally as a Father. Islam considers the most loving Christian word for God to be its biggest mistake.
 • Allah's Love Must Be Earned — In the Quran, a person must earn Allah's love by performing good deeds: "Indeed, Allah loves those who are righteous" (Surah 9:2). God in Jesus' teaching behaves completely differently: "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). God's love exists before we act righteously.
More Examples
 • No Personal Relationship Possible — Islamic teaching focuses on Allah's absolute power and distance: He shares no similarities with anything He created. A person can submit, obey, and fear Allah — but the Quran completely lacks the idea of personally knowing him.

✨ Salvation & Eternity

How does a person find peace with God and live forever? The two answers reveal the deepest difference between Christianity and Islam.

Jesus Christ — Salvation — A Free Gift

Jesus taught that no person can earn their way into heaven. Everyone sins, and the punishment for sin is death. The only way to live forever requires trusting in Jesus. His death paid the penalty for our sins, and His resurrection proved that He defeated death.

 • "For God So Loved the World""For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). You do not earn salvation — you receive it as a gift by believing.
 • The Thief on the Cross — One of the criminals executed next to Jesus said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus replied: "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). The criminal performed no good deeds. He performed no rituals. He simply believed — and entered paradise that same day. This defines grace.
 • Eternal Security"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand" (John 10:27-28). A believer remains secure because Jesus safely holds them, not because the believer maintains good behavior.
More Examples
 • "Come to Me All Who Are Weary""Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). This is not a command to work hard — it is an invitation to rest. This completely differs from a religion based on human effort.
 • Christ Alone"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Jesus clearly established that no other paths to God exist.
Muhammad — Salvation — Uncertain and Earned

In Islam, no one can guarantee their own salvation. A Muslim's future depends on whether their good deeds outweigh their bad deeds on Allah's scales on Judgment Day. Islam provides no Savior, and no sacrifice exists to pay for sins. Every person stands completely alone before Allah — including Muhammad himself.

 • Salvation by the Scales — Islamic teaching states that Allah will weigh each person's deeds on Judgment Day (Quran 21:47). If the good deeds weigh more, the person enters paradise. If not, they enter hell. Islam has no Savior. Everyone stands alone. Every Muslim lives with this uncertainty.
 • Muhammad Unsure of His Own Fate — Sahih al-Bukhari 5266 records Muhammad saying: "By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me." The founder of Islam did not know if he would enter heaven. Jesus guaranteed paradise to a dying criminal. The difference remains absolute.
 • The Crucifixion Denied — The Quran claims people did not crucify Jesus: "they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them" (Surah 4:157). If the crucifixion never happened, no sacrifice paid for sins — leaving humanity guilty with no method for forgiveness.
More Examples
 • Only Martyrs Get a Guarantee — The Quran guarantees paradise only to Muslims who die in holy war (Jihad) (Surah 3:169-171). This belief — that dying in war serves as the best method to enter heaven — has caused terrible destruction throughout history.

⚖️ Core Teachings & Ethics

The moral rules each man taught reveal their true character and the kind of society their teachings create.

Jesus Christ — Deep Love, Pure Hearts, and Serving Others

Jesus' moral teachings revolutionized society. He did not simply demand good behavior; He demanded a changed heart. He elevated the weakest people in society, rejected pride, and taught that true greatness results from serving others. His command to love enemies remains completely unique among world religions.

 • Love Your Enemies"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:43-45). Jesus not only commanded this — He demonstrated it by praying for the men who crucified Him.
 • Ethics of the Heart — Jesus taught that holiness focuses on what you desire in your heart, not just what you do externally: "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not murder'... But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment" (Matthew 5:21-22).
 • Servant Leadership"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant... just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:26-28). Jesus — the Creator of the universe — knelt before fishermen with a towel and washed their dirty feet (John 13). He held the greatest position, but He chose to serve.
More Examples
 • Turning the Other Cheek"If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also" (Matthew 5:39). Jesus taught and modeled how to absorb injustice instead of fighting back.
 • Forgiveness Without Limit — Peter asked how many times to forgive — seven times? Jesus replied: "Not seven times, but seventy-seven times" (Matthew 18:22) — meaning people must forgive endlessly, without counting.
 • The Two Great Commandments"Love the Lord your God with all your heart... Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:37-40). Love forms the basis of every law.
Muhammad — Outward Obedience, Revenge, and Double Standards

Muhammad's moral rules focused on obeying Islamic law (Sharia), maintaining loyalty to the Muslim community, and seeking justice through revenge. He did not demand a changed heart; instead, he demanded outward obedience. He established strict differences between how Muslims treat other Muslims and how they treat non-Muslims.

 • The Law of Retaliation"And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution" (Surah 5:45). Islamic law commands revenge, rather than just allowing it. In contrast, Jesus commanded: "Turn the other cheek."
 • Do Not Take Non-Muslims as Friends — The Quran repeatedly warns Muslims against forming close friendships with non-believers: "O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection" (Surah 60:1). Contrast this with Jesus' command: "Love your enemies."
 • Double Standards for Non-Muslims — Muhammad commanded: "A Muslim must not be killed in retaliation for killing a disbeliever" (Sahih al-Bukhari 3:111). Under Islamic law, society valued the lives of non-Muslims less. Jesus, however, made a hated foreigner (a Samaritan) the hero of His most famous story about "loving your neighbor" (Luke 10:25-37).
More Examples
 • Convenient "Revelations" — Muhammad received "revelations" that conveniently solved his personal problems, such as permission to marry his adopted son's ex-wife (Surah 33:37-38) and permission to marry more than four wives (Surah 33:50). His companion Anas ibn Malik said he felt very cautious about quoting Surah 33:37 (Sahih al-Bukhari 7421).

⚔️ Violence & How the Faith Spread

The method a leader uses to spread his message — love or force — reveals the true nature of that message.

Jesus Christ — The Kingdom Spreads Through Sacrifice

Jesus could have led a political or military revolution. The crowds wanted to use force to make Him king (John 6:15), but He always refused. He taught non-violence, accepted unjust suffering, and commanded His followers to spread the message by preaching rather than fighting. For its first 300 years, Christianity spread solely through persuasion, personal stories, and believers who willingly died for their faith.

 • Rebuked the Sword — When soldiers came to arrest Jesus, Peter drew his sword and severed a man's ear. Jesus immediately stopped Peter: "Put your sword back in its place, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword" (Matthew 26:52) — then Jesus healed the man's ear (Luke 22:51). Jesus responded to violence by healing.
 • "My Kingdom Is Not of This World" — Standing before the Roman governor Pilate, Jesus declared: "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders" (John 18:36). The Son of God clearly stated that He would not use military power to build His kingdom.
 • The Great Commission — Jesus' final command stated: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them... and teaching them" (Matthew 28:19-20). The method involved making disciples, baptizing, and teaching — avoiding conquest, taxation, or threats. Authorities killed His first followers for completing this mission, but the followers never used weapons.
More Examples
 • The Early Church Martyrs — A crowd stoned Stephen to death while he prayed for his killers (Acts 7:59-60). Authorities tortured and killed the apostles. Not one of them used a weapon. They spread their faith exactly as Jesus taught them — by suffering and loving.
 • Refused the Crown — After feeding 5,000 people, "Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself" (John 6:15). He rejected political power every time people offered it to Him.
Muhammad — The Kingdom Spreads by War

After moving to Medina in 622 AD, Muhammad became a political ruler and a military general. The tone of his "revelations" changed completely — shifting from patient suffering to aggressive war. Within 100 years of his death, Islamic armies used force to conquer the Arabian Peninsula, Persia, North Africa, and Spain.

 • The Sword Verse — Quran 9:5 (the "Verse of the Sword") commands: "When the sacred months have passed, kill the polytheists wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush." Many Islamic scholars teach that this single verse cancels over 100 earlier, peaceful verses.
 • 27 Military Campaigns — Muhammad personally fought in 27 military campaigns and ordered approximately 38 other raids. Jesus led no military campaigns and did not own a weapon.
 • The Banu Qurayza Massacre — After the Battle of the Trench, Muhammad watched his men behead 600–900 men from the Jewish Banu Qurayza tribe, and he enslaved their women and children (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah). Islamic scholars confirm this event, as their oldest history books record it.
More Examples
 • The Jizya — A Tax for Non-Muslims — Muhammad ordered his followers to conquer Jews and Christians unless they paid a special tax to prove their defeat: "Fight those who do not believe in Allah... until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled" (Surah 9:29).
 • Assassination of Critics — Muhammad ordered his men to murder people who mocked him using poetry. Men killed Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf on Muhammad's direct orders (Sahih al-Bukhari 5:369). Men murdered Asma bint Marwan, a female poet who criticized Muhammad, and Muhammad praised her killer (Ibn Ishaq). Jesus never ordered the death of anyone who criticized Him.

👩 Treatment of Women & the Vulnerable

A leader's treatment of powerless people reveals the true moral character of his beliefs.

Jesus Christ — Defender, Restorer, and Dignifier of Women

In Jesus' time, society treated women as second-class citizens. They possessed few legal rights and lacked a public voice. Jesus consistently and intentionally honored women. He spoke to them as equals, defended them from mistreatment, and selected them as the first witnesses to His resurrection.

 • The Samaritan Woman at the Well — Jesus broke two cultural rules simultaneously: He spoke to a Samaritan, and He spoke to a woman in public. He shared a deep spiritual conversation with her and revealed His identity as the Messiah to her before He told most of His male disciples (John 4).
 • First Witnesses of the Resurrection — The angel announced Jesus' resurrection to women first: "He is not here; he has risen!" (Matthew 28:6). Jesus then appeared to Mary first (John 20:14-16) and instructed her to tell the others. In a culture where courts banned women from testifying, God chose women as His first witnesses.
 • Defended Monogamy — When religious leaders asked about divorce, Jesus protected women from abandonment by teaching that marriage represents a lifelong, permanent bond between one man and one woman: "What God has joined together, let no one separate" (Matthew 19:6).
More Examples
 • Mary Sat at Jesus' Feet as a Disciple — In a culture that expected women only to serve food, Mary sat at Jesus' feet to learn — adopting the attitude of a student. When her sister complained, Jesus defended Mary: "Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her" (Luke 10:42).
 • Defended the Woman Caught in Adultery — Religious leaders dragged a woman before Jesus, intending to stone her to death. Jesus challenged their hypocrisy: "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone" (John 8:7). He then addressed her with dignity: "Neither do I condemn you."
Muhammad — Polygamy, Child Marriage, and Unequal Laws

Islam claims it improved the treatment of women compared to ancient Arabia. However, Muhammad established laws and habits that made men and women fundamentally unequal. Islamic law retains these unequal laws today. His personal behavior fell far below the moral standard of Jesus.

 • Marriage to Aisha at Age Six — Muhammad married Aisha when she reached six years of age, and he engaged in sexual relations with her when she reached nine (Sahih al-Bukhari 5158). Muhammad was approximately 52 years old at the time. Jesus said: "Let the little children come to me" (Matthew 19:14).
 • A Woman's Testimony Worth Half — Muhammad taught that a woman's testimony in court carries half the value of a man's testimony because women possess a "deficiency of mind" (Sahih al-Bukhari 2658; Quran 2:282). Furthermore, daughters inherit only half the amount that sons inherit (Surah 4:11).
 • Husbands May Strike Their Wives"Men are the managers of women... As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them, then leave them alone in bed, and then strike them" (Surah 4:34). Jesus responded to a sinful woman differently: "Neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin" (John 8:11).
More Examples
 • Divine Exception for Extra Wives — The Quran limits Muslim men to four wives (Surah 4:3), but Muhammad received a "special revelation" that permitted him to marry more women (Surah 33:50). He maintained marriages with at least 11 wives simultaneously. His friends secretly noticed this double standard.

👶 Attitude Toward Children

The way each man treated children reveals significant information regarding his moral character.

Jesus Christ — Children Are Treasures

Jesus displayed a deep and gentle love for children, which society considered highly unusual at that time. He welcomed children, presented them as perfect examples of faith, and strongly warned anyone who might harm them.

 • "Let the Children Come to Me" — The disciples attempted to send away parents who brought their children to Jesus. Jesus stopped His disciples and stated: "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). He laid His hands on the children and blessed them.
 • Children as the Model of Faith"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:3). Jesus instructed everyone to adopt the humble, dependent trust that a child exhibits.
 • Severe Warning Against Harming Children"If anyone causes one of these little ones — those who believe in me — to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea" (Matthew 18:6). Protecting children from harm represents one of God's most serious commands.
Muhammad — A Troubling Historical Record

The historical facts regarding Muhammad and children — drawn entirely from Islam's most trusted sources — appear very troubling. These actions directly oppose the gentle way Jesus protected children.

 • Child Marriage and Sexual Consummation — Sahih al-Bukhari 5158 records that Muhammad married Aisha when she reached six years of age and engaged in sexual relations with her when she reached nine. This action completely violates Jesus' strong warning against harming little ones.
 • The Banu Qurayza — Boys Executed — Following the defeat of the Banu Qurayza tribe, Islamic historian Ibn Ishaq recorded that soldiers executed boys who had reached puberty as men, and enslaved the younger boys. The soldiers inspected the boys' bodies to determine who lived and who died.

💫 Miracles & Verification of Claims

In the Bible, a true prophet must perform miraculous signs. How do Jesus and Muhammad compare against this standard?

Jesus Christ — Public Miracles That Could Be Proven

Jesus never performed miracles in secret. He performed them publicly, in crowded locations, surrounded by both friends and enemies. Even His enemies never denied the reality of His miracles. His enemies only argued regarding the source of His power (Matthew 12:24). This provides incredibly strong proof that the miracles genuinely occurred.

 • Raised Lazarus After Four Days — Lazarus lay dead and buried in a tomb for four days. Jesus called him, and Lazarus walked out alive. Many people, including enemies, witnessed this event and subsequently believed in Jesus (John 11:45).
 • Fed Over 5,000 People — Jesus fed more than 5,000 people using only five loaves of bread and two fish. The crowd even collected twelve baskets of leftover food (John 6:13). This public miracle proved too large to dismiss as a trick or a fictional story.
 • Fulfilled 300+ Specific Prophecies — Jesus fulfilled dozens of highly specific predictions found in the Old Testament: His birthplace (Micah 5:2), His entry into Jerusalem riding a donkey (Zechariah 9:9), the 30 silver coins (Zechariah 11:12-13), soldiers casting lots for His clothing (Psalm 22:18), and His resurrection (Psalm 16:10). It remains mathematically impossible for anyone to fulfill all these predictions randomly.
More Examples
 • Gave Sight to the Blind — Jesus healed men born blind (John 9). Religious leaders questioned the healed man and his parents, but the leaders could not deny the miracle.
 • Calmed the Storm — Jesus commanded a violent storm to stop, and the sea instantly calmed (Mark 4:39). His experienced fishermen disciples responded with terror: "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!" (Mark 4:41).
Muhammad — The Quran Says He Performed No Miracles

When people demanded that Muhammad perform a miracle — such as parting the sea or causing water to flow — he refused. He admitted he lacked the power. The Quran repeatedly states that Muhammad performed no miracles to prove his prophethood. Muslims claim that the Quran itself stands as his only miracle.

 • The Quran Admits: No Signs"And they say, 'Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?' Say, 'The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner'" (Surah 29:50). In contrast, Jesus' miracles appeared so obvious that even His enemies admitted their reality.
 • Meccans' Challenges Were Never Met — Surah 17:90-93 records that the people of Mecca demanded miracles, but Muhammad offered none. Moses split the Red Sea. Elijah called down fire. Jesus raised the dead. Muhammad only produced a book.
 • Later Hadith Miracles Contradict the Quran — Hundreds of years after Muhammad died, Islamic traditions began claiming he performed miracles — such as water flowing from his fingers or splitting the moon. These later stories contradict the actual text of the Quran. Writers likely added these stories later to make Muhammad appear more similar to Jesus and Moses.
More Examples
 • No Predictive Prophecy Track Record — The Bible contains numerous specific predictions that occurred exactly as written hundreds of years later. The Quran lacks any specific, detailed predictions of this nature.

🪞 Personal Character & Conduct

The inner character of each man — demonstrated by his public and private actions — highlights the clearest difference between them.

Jesus Christ — Perfect Character — The Perfect Human

The character of Jesus Christ stands completely unique in human history. Even His enemies failed to find Him guilty of any sin. The Roman governor Pilate declared three times: "I find no basis for a charge against this man" (Luke 23:4, 14, 22). He lived perfectly holy and pure (Hebrews 7:26). His character defines the highest standard of goodness.

 • Never Sinned, Never Apologized — Jesus never sinned, never apologized, and never needed to correct a moral mistake. He asked His critics: "Can any of you prove me guilty of sin?" (John 8:46). No one could prove Him guilty. Any normal human teacher experiences moments of pride or failure. Jesus experienced none.
 • Compassion as a Defining Trait — The Gospels repeatedly demonstrate Jesus' deep compassion — for the sick (Matthew 14:14), for the hungry (Matthew 15:32), and for the grieving (John 11:35). He wept at Lazarus's tomb because He felt the sadness of the people He loved.
 • Humility in Greatness — The Creator of the universe wrapped a towel around His waist and washed His disciples' dirty feet (John 13:1-17). He stated: "I am gentle and humble in heart" (Matthew 11:29). He ranked as the greatest of all, yet He became a servant to all.
More Examples
 • Consistent in Public and Private — Jesus maintained no secret life and committed no private sins. His private behavior aligned perfectly with His public teaching.
Muhammad — Inconsistent Morals and Convenient Rules

Muhammad's personal behavior, according to Islam's most trusted sources, reveals a man who acted kindly at times but also performed actions falling far below the moral standard of Jesus. Frequently, Muhammad received "revelations" from God that conveniently solved his own personal problems.

 • Revelations for Personal Benefit — Muhammad received a revelation permitting him to marry his adopted son's ex-wife, Zainab (Surah 33:37), after he felt attraction toward her. His follower Anas ibn Malik called this the most embarrassing verse in the Quran (Sahih al-Bukhari 7421).
 • Use of Captured Women — Following victorious battles, Muhammad permitted his men to keep captured women as sex slaves (Surah 4:24; Sahih Muslim 3371), and he participated in this practice himself. Jesus never permitted anyone to exploit or abuse others.
 • Prayed for Enemies' Destruction — Muhammad prayed that God would curse and destroy his enemies. Jesus prayed that God would forgive His enemies. These contrasting reactions highlight the massive moral gap between the two men.

✝️ Final Days & Death

The end of each man's life highlights the clearest difference between them.

Jesus Christ — Choosing the Cross, Conquering the Grave

Jesus traveled to Jerusalem fully knowing the upcoming events. He did not die as a victim — He chose to sacrifice Himself to pay for our sins. Following His death, He rose back to life, permanently changing the world.

 • Predicted His Own Death and Resurrection — Jesus precisely predicted His method of death and stated that He would rise again three days later (Matthew 16:21). No ordinary man could predict these events and cause them to happen.
 • Forgiveness From the Cross — As soldiers drove nails through His hands, Jesus prayed: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing" (Luke 23:34). This demonstrates the highest form of love — praying for the individuals torturing you.
 • The Bodily Resurrection — Three days after His death, people found the tomb empty. Jesus appeared alive to Mary Magdalene, to the disciples, and to a group of more than 500 people simultaneously (1 Corinthians 15:6). The resurrection forms the absolute foundation of the Christian faith.
More Examples
 • Ascended and Alive — After 40 days, Jesus ascended into heaven while His disciples watched (Acts 1:9). He does not remain in a grave. He lives.
 • Gethsemane — The Cost of Willing Sacrifice — Before authorities arrested Him, Jesus prayed: "Father... not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). He experienced real pain, yet He still chose to die for us.
Muhammad — Death by Illness, Buried and Remained

Muhammad died in Medina in 632 AD following a long illness. He conquered Arabia using force, constructed a political empire, and died possessing wealth and power. He remains in his grave.

 • Death Linked to Poison — While on his deathbed, Muhammad complained about pain originating from poison given to him years earlier. A Jewish woman poisoned him after he killed her family at Khaibar (Sahih al-Bukhari 4428). His violent wars directly connected to his death.
 • No Successor Designated — Muhammad died without naming a clear leader to replace him. This failure caused a massive political crisis, sparking the first Islamic civil wars and creating the permanent split between Sunni and Shia Muslims.
 • Uncertain of His Own Fate — Even as death approached, Muhammad prayed for forgiveness and mercy, unsure of his final destination (Sahih al-Bukhari 6511). On the cross, Jesus confidently declared: "It is finished" (John 19:30).
More Examples
 • His Bones Are in Medina — Followers buried Muhammad in Medina, and his body remains there today. Millions visit his grave annually. Muhammad did not rise from the dead.

🌍 Legacy & the Fruits of Their Teachings

The true test of any teaching lies in the kind of world it builds. Jesus stated: "By their fruit you will recognize them" (Matthew 7:16).

Jesus Christ — A Legacy of Love, Dignity, and Civilization

Wherever people truly follow Jesus' message, human dignity, kindness, and progress increase. Developments like hospitals, universities, and the abolition of slavery resulted directly from His teachings.

 • The Abolition of Slavery — The belief that God made every person in His image motivated Christians to fight to end slavery. Christians who believed in equality led the movement to end the slave trade.
 • Hospitals and Care for the Sick — Christians started the concept of a public hospital — providing free care to sick people regardless of their wealth — because they followed Jesus' example of healing the sick.
 • Universities and Education — Christians founded many of the world's greatest universities because they believed everyone deserves an education to understand God's creation.
More Examples
 • The Dignity of Women Worldwide — Wherever Jesus' message spreads, the treatment of women improves. Christians stopped terrible practices like killing female infants and forcing children into marriage.
 • Humanitarian Work — People built the world's largest charities and relief organizations to obey Jesus' command to love our neighbors.
Muhammad — A Legacy of Conquest, Division, and Strict Law

Within 100 years of Muhammad's death, Islamic armies used military force to conquer the Middle East, North Africa, Persia, and Spain. The religious and legal system he built shaped a vastly different world.

 • Spread Primarily by Conquest — Islamic armies destroyed most of the ancient Christian churches in North Africa. Islam spread primarily through war, rather than just through preaching.
 • The Perpetual Sunni-Shia Divide — Because Muhammad failed to name a successor, Sunni and Shia Muslims have fought each other for centuries, causing countless deaths.
 • Death for Leaving Islam — Muhammad commanded his followers to kill anyone who leaves Islam (Sahih al-Bukhari 9:84:57). Many Islamic countries today still punish people with death for leaving the religion. Jesus never instructed anyone to kill a person for lacking belief.
More Examples
 • Institutionalized Dhimmitude — Under Islamic law, society treated Jews and Christians as second-class citizens and forced them to pay a special tax (Jizya) just to live peacefully. This remains a standard Islamic teaching.

🙏 Prayer & Worship

The way each man prayed reveals the true nature of his relationship with God.

Jesus Christ — Prayer as a Close Conversation with the Father

Jesus did not treat prayer as a ritual or a performance. He treated prayer as a genuine, personal conversation with God. He taught that God acts as a loving Father who actively listens.

 • The Lord's Prayer — A Child Talking to His Father — When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He did not provide a list of rules. He taught them to say: "Our Father in heaven..." (Matthew 6:9-13). Calling the Creator of the universe "Father" presented a completely new and revolutionary idea.
 • "Ask and It Will Be Given to You" — Jesus taught that God constantly remains ready to listen: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7-8). Prayer does not act as a ritual to grab God's attention; instead, prayer means talking to a Father who loves you.
 • Jesus' High Priestly Prayer — On the night before He died, Jesus prayed for all His followers, asking God to keep them united and safe (John 17). Jesus continues to pray for believers today (Hebrews 7:25).
More Examples
 • The Holy Spirit Helps Us Pray — Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would help believers pray. When we lack the right words, the Spirit prays for us (Romans 8:26-27).
 • Prayer in Private, Not for Show — Jesus warned people against praying simply to impress others (Matthew 6:5). True prayer exists as a private conversation between a child and their Father.
Muhammad — Salat — Ritual Prayers on a Strict Schedule

Islamic prayer (Salat) differs greatly from what Jesus taught. It does not function as a conversation; instead, it serves as a strict ritual performed five times each day. A person must use specific Arabic words and execute specific body movements.

 • Five Prayers, Specific Positions — Muslims must pray exactly five times daily, while standing, bowing, and placing their foreheads on the ground. If a person makes a mistake during the movements or words, the prayer loses its validity.
 • Arabic Only — Muslims must pray in Arabic, even if they do not understand the language. Jesus taught that true worship originates from the heart and the Spirit (John 4:23-24), rather than from speaking a specific language.
 • Missed Prayers Are a Severe Sin — Muhammad warned that anyone who stops praying commits a terrible sin and may cease to be a Muslim. Jesus never taught that missing a prayer breaks a person's relationship with God.
More Examples
 • No Guarantee Allah Hears Personally — Even if a person prays five times a day, Islam provides no guarantee that Allah hears them personally. Success depends on whether the person washed correctly and recited the exact right words. The Christian prays to a Father who always listens.

⛓️ Attitude Toward Slavery

The way these two men viewed slavery highlights one of the clearest moral differences between them.

Jesus Christ — The Beginning of Freedom

Jesus never owned or purchased a slave. He taught moral principles — that God deeply loves and created every person — which eventually led to the global end of slavery.

 • Every Person Bears the Image of God — Jesus affirmed that God made every person in His image (Genesis 1:27). A person cannot own, buy, or sell someone who bears the image of God. This belief provides the strongest argument against slavery.
 • He Touched the Untouchable — Jesus spent time with people that society treated poorly — lepers, foreigners, and outcasts. He treated every person as incredibly valuable, proving that society should never exploit humans.
 • Brotherhood Destroys Slavery — The Bible instructs a Christian slave owner to welcome his runaway slave back "no longer as a slave, but... as a dear brother" (Philemon 1:16). Treating each other as brothers in Christ destroys the concept of slavery.
More Examples
 • Christianity Produced the Abolitionists — Devoted Christians fought the hardest to end the slave trade in Europe and America. Islam never developed a similar movement to end slavery based on its own theology.
Muhammad — A Slave Owner Who Made Slavery Law

Muhammad personally owned, purchased, and sold slaves. He also permitted his men to keep captured women as sex slaves. Islam's most trusted history books record these facts.

 • Muhammad Personally Owned Slaves — Islamic history records the names of several slaves owned by Muhammad, including Zayd and Maria. Islamic history books describe this practice as completely normal.
 • Sexual Slavery Explicitly Permitted — The Quran openly permits men to engage in sexual relations with female captives taken during war (Surah 23:5-6). Muhammad and his followers engaged in this practice.
 • Women Taken as Slaves After Battle — Following a battle, Muhammad gave his men permission to engage in sexual relations with captured women, even if those women were already married (Sahih Muslim 3371).
More Examples
 • Islamic Law Never Abolished Slavery — Islamic law regulates slavery, but never outlaws it. The Arab slave trade continued for over a thousand years, and Saudi Arabia only officially banned slavery in 1962.

✡️ Treatment of the Jewish People

The way these two men treated the Jewish people creates one of the most important differences in history.

Jesus Christ — A Jewish Messiah Who Loved His People

Jesus was Jewish. He had a Jewish mother, attended the Jewish temple, and chose twelve Jewish apostles. He deeply loved His people.

 • Jesus Wept Over Jerusalem — When Jesus saw Jerusalem, He cried for the city: "...If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace..." (Luke 19:41-42). The Son of God wept because a broken heart for His people overwhelmed Him.
 • "Jerusalem, Jerusalem..." — Jesus said: "Jerusalem... how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings..." (Matthew 23:37). He spoke words of heartbroken love, not anger.
 • Salvation Is from the Jews — Jesus honored the Jewish people. He told a Samaritan woman: "Salvation is from the Jews" (John 4:22). God delivered His entire plan through Israel.
More Examples
 • Paul's Anguish for Israel — The Apostle Paul wrote: "I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart... for the sake of my people..." (Romans 9:2-4). This demonstrates the Christian spirit — longing for Israel's salvation rather than her destruction.
Muhammad — Tried to Make an Alliance, Then Massacred Them

When Muhammad arrived in Medina, three major Jewish tribes resided there. He attempted to persuade them to accept him as a prophet. When they refused, he expelled two of the tribes and massacred the third.

 • The Conquest of Khaibar — Muhammad attacked the Jewish town of Khaibar. He tortured their treasurer to locate hidden money, killed him, and then claimed the man's beautiful young wife as his own that same night (Sahih al-Bukhari 2520).

📜 Fulfilled vs. Unfulfilled Prophecy

True prophecy proves that a message originates from God. If God sends someone, their predictions become true perfectly.

Jesus Christ — Fulfilled Over 300 Ancient Prophecies

The Old Testament contains over 300 specific prophecies regarding the coming Messiah, written hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Jesus perfectly fulfilled every single prophecy.

 • Born in Bethlehem — The prophet Micah wrote that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). Jesus was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2:1-7), perfectly fulfilling a 700-year-old prophecy.
 • Betrayed for 30 Pieces of Silver — The prophet Zechariah predicted someone would betray the Messiah for exactly thirty pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12-13). Judas betrayed Jesus for exactly 30 pieces of silver (Matthew 26:15).
 • Crucifixion Described in Detail — King David wrote Psalm 22 1,000 years before anyone invented crucifixion: "They pierce my hands and my feet..." This describes exactly what happened to Jesus on the cross.
More Examples
 • Isaiah's Suffering Servant — The prophet Isaiah wrote regarding a servant who would be "pierced for our transgressions" (Isaiah 53:5). This chapter precisely describes Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead.
 • The Statistical Impossibility — A mathematician calculated that the probability of one person fulfilling just 8 of these prophecies by accident equals 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies. This provides absolute proof of God's plan.
Muhammad — Failed Predictions and No Ancient Prophecy

Muslims claim the Bible predicted Muhammad's arrival, but this claim lacks truth. Furthermore, some of Muhammad's own predictions failed completely.

 • Deuteronomy 18:18 — Does Not Refer to Muhammad — Muslims claim God's promise to Moses about raising up a prophet refers to Muhammad. However, the text states the prophet will originate from the Israelites, not the Arabs. Jesus was an Israelite.
 • Song of Solomon 5:16 — Not a Name — Muslims claim the Hebrew word machmad found in the Bible translates to 'Muhammad.' However, this represents a common Hebrew word meaning 'desirable' or 'lovely.' Writers use it to describe fruit and jewelry, not a person's name.
 • Muhammad's Failed Prophecy — Muhammad predicted that his followers would conquer Constantinople during their lifetime. He was completely wrong. They did not conquer it until 800 years later. The Bible states that if a prophet's prediction fails, he operates as a false prophet (Deuteronomy 18:22).
More Examples
 • Romans vs. Persians — Not a Miracle — The Quran predicted that the Romans would defeat the Persians in an ongoing war. This prediction acts simply as a lucky guess regarding a political war, not a miraculous prophecy spanning hundreds of years like the prophecies regarding Jesus.

🕊️ The Holy Spirit vs. Gabriel

How does God interact with people in each religion?

Jesus Christ — God Living Inside the Believer

Jesus promised that God's own Spirit would live inside every believer. This involves more than just a message from an angel; this means God Himself lives in our hearts to change us.

 • The Promise of the Holy Spirit — Jesus promised: "...the Spirit of truth... lives with you and will be in you" (John 14:16-17). This means God takes up permanent residence inside a person.
 • The Holy Spirit Descended — Fifty days after the resurrection, the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples (Acts 2:1-4). God's Spirit now lives inside millions of believers, supplying them with power, peace, and courage.
 • The Fruit of the Spirit — When God's Spirit lives inside a person, it produces good fruits: "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness..." (Galatians 5:22-23).
More Examples
 • God in Perfect Unity — At His baptism, the Father spoke, the Son remained present, and the Holy Spirit descended (Matthew 3:16).
Muhammad — An Angel Dictating a Message

In Islam, an angel named Gabriel supposedly delivered messages to Muhammad. Islam does not teach that God lives inside the believer.

 • Dictated Messages — Islamic teaching states the angel Gabriel dictated the Quran to Muhammad. This involves an external message, whereas Jesus promised the internal presence of God Himself.
 • Fear vs. Peace — Muhammad's encounters with the spirit terrified him and caused him to shake in fear. When the Holy Spirit came to Jesus, the Spirit arrived peacefully, like a dove.
 • No Indwelling of God — Islam does not teach that God's Spirit lives inside believers. It focuses on following rules, not on building a personal, inward relationship with the presence of God.
More Examples
 • The "Helper" Is the Spirit — Muslims claim Jesus' promise of a "Helper" refers to Muhammad. However, Jesus explicitly stated this Helper is the Holy Spirit who lives inside believers forever.

📊 Summary Comparison

A quick summary of the key differences between Jesus and Muhammad:

Category ✝ ✝ Jesus Christ ☪ ☪ Muhammad
Identity God in human form A human prophet
Sinless Life Lived perfectly without sin Sinned and sought forgiveness
View of God A loving Father A distant master
Salvation A free gift received through grace Based on performing good works
Violence Preached love for enemies Used military force
Women Respected and protected women Provided fewer rights to women
Miracles Healed the sick and raised the dead The Quran serves as his only "miracle"
Death Died for us; rose from the dead Died from illness; remains buried
Prophecy Fulfilled 300+ ancient signs Made no ancient predictions
Divine Presence God’s Spirit lives in us No Spirit indwells believers

🕊️ Conclusion

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said."

The difference between these two figures remains profound. Jesus arrived to offer life through sacrificial love, and He proved His divine authority by rising from the dead. He offers us a personal, life-changing relationship with God.

Muhammad established a religious and political system built on human conquest and external rules. He directed his followers toward a distant power rather than toward an indwelling relationship with the Father.

Which path leads to truth? One leader remains dead; the other exists as the Living Savior.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."Matthew 11:28
