MAINTAINING
YOUR
DELIVERANCE
SUBMIT TO GOD RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU
DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU
JAMES 4:7-8
8 STEPS FOR MAINTAINING
DELIVERANCE
1. Put on the whole armor of GOD
Ephesians 6:10-18 Prepare for conflict
We struggle against hostile demonic
powers who have rebelled against God and
oppose His people
THERE ARE SEVEN PIECES
OF ARMOR
1. Loins girded about with truth.
2. The breastplate of righteousness.
3. Feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
4. The shield of faith.
5. The helmet of salvation.
6. The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of GOD.
7. Praying in the Spirit. (Tongues)Constantly for ourselves and others
OUR WEAPONS
Belt of truth…Secure your inner life with truth.
Breast plate… protects the outer life by being morally upright, doing right
to my neighbor. Helps us avoid sin.
Feet… prepared to be ready to take the gospel to any place anytime.
Shield, a firm faith will provide a shield against the devils temptations.
Helmet…provides the knowledge of a sure salvation and gives assurance
of complete victory
Sword… increasing in the knowledge of God’s word will enable the word
to be used against the enemy offensive weapon to fight temptation
Prayer protects us because it keeps us connected to God.
Pray
Heavenly Father thank
you that you have given
me all I need to be
victorious in the spiritual
battle, which all your
children are engaged.
Help me to rely on you
and not on my own
abilities. Help me to find
all I need in you and the
power of your might.
2. CHECK
YOUR
THOUGHT LIFE
Refuse the thoughts that
demons give and replace them
with Gods thoughts.
Philippians 4:8
Rehearsing the word, God has
spoken, releases faith. Rom
10:17 Repeating Satans lies
gives permission for demonic
influence and will open the
door to the him. Mark 11:23
3. MIND RENEWAL
Dont allow the world or the enemy to tell us who we are or how we
should feel or behave
Throw out the lies. Clear away the rubbish, then feast on the
truth. Nehemiah story
Romans 12:2 be transformed by the renewing of your mind
Inner transformational change in the heart, that is brought
about by the Holy Spirit, by his illumination of truth within us
Transform means metamorphosis (old to new)
Renew means to resume to an original position after an
interruption. It is a reset. In new birth, Jesus’s identity
becomes your default. Your original position is made whole.
Anything contrary to who Jesus is, such as fear shame guilt
worry condemnation is an interruption.
DEMOLISHING LIES
2 Cor 10:4-5 The weapons we
fight with are not the weapons of
the world. On the contrary, they
have divine power to demolish
strongholds. We demolish
arguments and every pretension
that sets itself up against the
knowledge of God, and we take
captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ.
INTERRUPTING THE
INTERRUPTIONS WITH
THE TRUTH
Ephesians 4:17-23
17
So I tell you this, and insist on
it in the Lord, that you must no
longer live as the Gentiles do, in
the futility of their
thinking.
18
They are darkened in
their understanding and
separated from the life of
God because of the ignorance
that is in them due to the
hardening of their hearts.
19
Having lost all sensitivity, they
have given themselves over to
sensuality, to indulge in every
kind of impurity, and they are
full of greed.
20
That, however, is not the way
of life you learned
21
when you
heard about Christ and were
taught in him in accordance with
the truth that is in Jesus.
22
You
were taught, to put off your old
self, which is being corrupted by
its deceitful desires;
23
to be made new in the attitude
of your minds;
24
and to put
on the new self, created to be like
God in true righteousness and
holiness.

It is a cleansing agent. Ephesians 5:25-26
It is a two-edged sword, laying bare the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
It is food for the spirit. 1 Peter 2:2; Matthew 4:4
5. TAKE UP
YOUR CROSS
No person can maintain
deliverance apart from the Word of
GOD as a primary focus in their
life. Psalm 1:1-3
Take up your cross daily and follow
Jesus. Luke 9:23
If fleshly, appetites, desires and
lusts are not brought to the cross, it
is a way for demons to return.
Galatians 5:19-21, 24
Develop a life of continuous praise
and prayer, which silences the
enemy. Pray in the Spirit (in
tongues) and also in the
understanding. 1 Corinthians14:14

1 Thessalonians 5:17
6. MAINTAIN and COMMIT
Maintain a life of fellowship and spiritual ministry. It is the sheep that
wanders from the flock that is most endangered. Desire spiritual gifts and
yield to their operation through you.1 Corinthians 12:7-14
Commit yourself totally to Christ. Determine that every thought, word
and action will reflect the very nature of Christ. Faith and trust in GOD
is the greatest weapon against the Devil’s lies.

having been cleansed; Do Not settle for anything less. Romans 5:10
7. CLOTHE
YOURSELF WITH
THE FRUITS OF
THE SPIRIT
Take your freedom by faith. This is
your position, declare it, stand on
the Word, get stubborn with the
devil, this is your heritage.
Luke 10:19
A loving spirit is needed. Refuse to
be hateful and mean; put on love.
Matthew 5:25
A forgiving spirit is needed; an
unforgiving spirit allows the enemy
access. Mark 11:25
A tender spirit is needed. Jesus did
not bite back. He was tender; be
like Him.
8. LEARN
Refuse to yield to a
retaliation spirit.(revenge)
Do away with a critical
spirit.
Learn to recognize the
striving spirit, it is from the
devil, do not yield to it; it
will bring you into bondage
again.
Learn to yield to the
peaceable spirit; be a
peacemaker.
Learn to exercise mercy and
gentleness; these are Christ-
like actions.
Any enemy spirit that you
yield to, will bring bondage.
Yield to Christ’s love,
meekness, and tenderness;
then liberation comes. 2
Timothy 2:24
You must forsake sin so that a
worse thing will not come on
you. John 5:14
